Experience
I started college at the age of sixteen, transferring to The George Washington University at eighteen and graduating Cum Laude with my Bachelor’s with a major in Criminal Justice and minors in History and Creative Writing. For graduate school I went to the State University at Albany New York when I was twenty to continue my education, achieving my master’s last year. I have been a Teaching Assistant leading discussion groups in Criminal Law classes, as well as organized and taught a Creative Writing summer class for middle and high school students over the summer of 2011. As a Teaching Assistant I led two discussion sections where we discussed the history and application of criminal law in civics, our daily lives, and the politics around us. I have always been interested in society, history, and storytelling which made me excited to lead the discussion groups. Now that I have graduated, teaching and mentoring my students is the part of college that I look back on the fondest. I even miss developing course materials, as planning out the lessons gave me time to think about how the class would go and to prepare questions for students. Before I was a TA, back when I was teaching the Creative Writing class, I discovered a love for thinking about language and looking over papers. As a tutor I am excited to help with this. I minored in creative writing because I love how language flows and how the different meanings of words can be shifted by small changes in grammar or word choice. I have written recreationally for years and have been writing online since I was fifteen on blogs, forums, and writing communities. I write every day and am a firm believer in that being the best way to advance as a writer. Commonwealth Honors Program Scholar Kenneth M.
